Country rocker Aaron Lewis, the voice of renowned US rock act Staind, is set to embark on a US tour this February, giving the fans a feel of his main band, as well as some of the hits from his solo album “The Road.”
The trek will kick off on February 15 in Valentine, Nevada, live at the Rosebud Casino. Continuing through Atlantic City, North Kansas City, San Antonio and Detroit, the list of dates will stretch across mid-May and the final stop in Jackson, California.
Although Staind stands out as Aaron’s musical ID card, acoustic solo shows have been a key ingredient of his artistic fabric since day one. Ever since the early age of 17, the frontman performed gigs with nothing but his voice and an acoustic guitar in the forefront.
Country music was something that Lewis’ grandfather introduced him to, but he personally noted that the fire was rekindled during a tour with Kid Rock. To see if the flame is still burning, check out Aaron live on one of the tour stops.

Aaron Lewis, the voice front personality of US rock act Staind, began his musical journey way back in the ’80s. Still in his teen years, Aaron established a permanent connection between his acoustic guitar and voice, performing regular acoustic gigs at the fragile age of 17.
Lewis founded Staind in 1995 alongside guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist Johnny April and drummer Jon Wysocki.
Aaron’s love of the country vibe was well present from the very start of his musical journey. However, the rock detour he took with Staind made the guitar-heavy feel a much more prominent feature. The band began its musical journey by performing hits from such acts as Korn, Alice in Chains, Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam and Tool, shaping the boys up to deliver a shattering riff or two as well.
Although Staind’s debut album “Tormented” saw its release in 1996, it wasn’t until 1999 that the band oiled up their hit-making machine. That year, the band delivered their sophomore effort “Dysfunction” featuring breakthrough hit “Mudshovel.”
Packed to the gills with passion, the long-overdue recognition finally occurred at the turn of millennia, with their 2001 third album “Break the Cycle.” Thanks to hits like “It’s Been Awhile,” “Outside” and “For You,” the album debuted at No. 1 on both the US Billboard 200 chart and the Album Chart.
The success continued throughout the decade with two more No. 1 albums in the US – 2003’s “14 Shades of Grey” and 2005’s “Chapter V.” No. 1 spot in the UK never happened again, but the band’s status of a massive US rock act was cemented by now.
In 2008, the train kept a-rolling with “The Illusion of Progress.” Entering the 2010s, the band released a self-titled record in 2011. Wysocki left the band the same year and was replaced by Sal Giancarelli.
As noted in the beginning, Staind is a huge part of Aaron’s musical expression, but the band doesn’t take up its entirety either. Lewis always kept a strong connection with his country spirit, and the year of 2011 was finally a time when he could express it. The frontman released his debut solo EP, “Town Line,” receiving positive reviews and selling over 200,000 units in the US.
A full-length solo record was quick to follow. Released in 2012, “The Road” saw Aaron further venturing down the road of country style. He noted that the love of country music was sparked by his grandfather, although a joint tour with Kid Rock was the crucial factor that rekindled the flame.
Lewis is a registered Republican who opposes high taxes and supports the legalization of marijuana. His radical nationalist views were expressed in the song “Country Boy.”
A father of three daughters, Aaron is known as a philanthropist and the man behind It Takes a Community, a nonprofit organization which saw him and his wife making efforts to reopen their daughters’ elementary school in Worthington, Massachusetts.
15 million records sold with Staind and about 500,000 more as a solo artist is no mean feat, and Mr. Lewis got to achieve it. The man is currently gearing up to hit the road as a solo artist and tour the States for a few months in 2015. He’s hardly slowing down, make sure to stand by for more.
