Def Leppard Guitarist Phil Collen Announces Blues-Rock Side Project

Phil CollenAlthough he’s quite busy with the band working on their massively anticipated new album, Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen has revealed that he still found time to work on some solo material.

As Ultimate Classic Rock reports, the axeman’s new project will go by the name of Delta Deep and delve into the intricate vintage world of blues rock.

The group is planning to release and album on June 23, but what makes the project additionally interesting is the fact that Stone Temple Bassist, the one and only Robert DeLeo, is also involved with the band and will likely track down all the bass guitar parts.

The rest of the band consists of vocalist Debbi Blackwell Cook, and Forrest Robinson  of India Arie behind the drum kit.

Additionally, the album will feature special guest appearances from such rock titans as Whitesnake mastermind David Coverdale, Sex Pistols icon Paul Cooke, and Collen’s Def Leppard bandmate, singer Joe Elliot.
