Pop punks stars Fall Out Boy have officially inducted their fellow punk rock stars Green Day into the prestigious Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame, praising them as on of the quintessential bands of the genre.
Announcing the GD boys, vocalist Patrick Stump remembered how he used to sneak out of classes in high school to listen to “Dookie,” saying that “the other kids had Guns N’ Roses and Nirvana and I fell in love with that later, but in 1994, none of that was me. This was all mine. I followed every [Green Day] interview, I watched every TV performance.”
FoB bassist Pete Wentz then stepped up to the mic to quote frontman Billie Joe Armstrong from on of his early-day interviews. He pointed out that Billie once said that he absolutely has no plans to make punk rock music for the rest of his life, to which Pete commented, “Sorry man – you still are.”
