American groove metal stars Five Finger Death Punch have been very prolific in recent years, resulting in massive concert activity across the world. The band remains out on the road in 2016, ready to hit the road in Australia and the .
The first shows have been booked as opening-band slots with none other than heavy metal legends Black Sabbath on their Australian run in April, stretching across 10 days in the land down under.
Then, the FFDP gang will go back the US of A starting with the late April show at the Welcome to Rockville 2016 festival in Jacksonville, FL. The US run will last for a month, and will be instantly followed by a European leg, covering Germany, Czech Republic, Austria and other notable countries.
Finally, the group is set to perform their final show of 2016 thus far with the sole Canadian FFDP date of the year – the early August performance at the Heavy Montreal 2016 fest at the Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, QC.

After forging their craft and creating tunes for less than two years, the band unleashed their debut effort “The Way of the Fist” in July 2007 via The Farm Records.
Led by “The Bleeding” single, the album established the band as a strong fresh force within the guitar-driven realm. The effort sold over 600,000 units within the States to date.
The sound of FFDP can be described as a mixture of traditional groove metal forged by the likes of Pantera, injecting it with a healthy dose of European melody and more accessible vocal lines, especially in the choruses.
Back to the journey now – the group began touring heavily, garnering a growing fanbase across the continent and the world. Their second album, “War Is the Answer,” was unleashed in May 2009, featuring a cover of staple Bad Company tune “Bad Company.”
The band found their way to the fans through war-related topics, always paying massive respect to the troops and veterans of the US Army. The album sold nearly 800,000 units within the States and spawned a total of six singles, earning FFDP their first Top 10 album so far.
In 2011, the release of “American Capitalist” saw the group relentlessly delving into touchy matters and subjects yet again, earning their first Top 3 release along the way.
Finally, the year of 2013 was very successful for the band, as they managed to successfully unveil a very serious undertaking – a double album. Titled “The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell,” the effort was released in two volumes, collectively selling over 800,000 units within the US of A alone.
The new album is already scheduled for August 2015 release under the title of “Got Your Six,” making the Death Punch fold one of the most prolific prominent rock acts on the scene these days.
The band’s lineup was fairly stable throughout the years with only three switches of band members. FFDP currently features Ivan Moody on lead vocals, Zoltan Bathory on rhythm guitar, Jeremy Spencer behind the drum kit, Jason Hook on lead guitar and backing vocals, as well as bearded man Chris Kael on bass guitar and backing vocals.
In the age of dwindling music sales, Five Finger Death Punch is scoring amicable sale figures for a metal band, but is still forced to tour relentlessly in order to keep the machine going. And that might be a good thing, as their live shows are quite a sight to see. Packed with adrenaline, massive riffs, and loud guitars and drums, they just might be one of the most energetic live acts in rock today.
Therefore, if these guys are in your area, make sure to get your FFDP tickets ASAP, it just might turn out to be the rocking event of the season.
