Biography

Grace Potter bioThe story of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals began back in 2002 in Vermont as singer Grace Potter started working on fresh music that would become the staple mark of one of the hottest fresh bands within the realm of indie folk rock genre.

The band’s debut album dropped in September 2005 via Hollywood Records under the title of “Nothing But the Water,” scoring lukewarm chart success, but fetching the band a cult following and a reputation of a force not the be reckoned with.

The journey continued with 2007’s “This Is Somewhere,” which saw the band finding their spot on the US Billboard 200 chart for the very first time.

In 2010, things have really heated up with the group’s self-titled studio album. Featuring hit tracks “Paris (Ooh La La” and “Medicine,” the record became a Top 20 effort in the US and allowed the group to embark on major tours and find their spot on some of today’s biggest music festivals.

The story remained the same with 2012’s “The Lion the Beast the Beat,” which once again gave the band a Top 20 record, spawning hit tune “Stars” as one of the group’s most recognizable songs.

As of 2009, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals features Grace Potter on vocals, guitar and piano, Matt Burr on drums, and percussion, and Benny Yurco on guitar, bass guitar and backing vocals.

Apart from her activity with the Nocturnals, Grace Potter is also unleashing albums under her own name upon this world, which include 2004’s “Original Soul” and 2015’s “Midnight.”

Throughout their career, they have always been an incredibly active live band, with strings of packed tours and festival appearances. This perfected their craft and musicianship, making them one of the best young bands to see in 2015.
