Country superstar Luke Bryan commenced his rise to fame during mid-2000s in the capitol of music, Nashville, Tennessee. Soon upon arriving to the city, Bryan began making musical contribution by composing songs for himself and other artists.
Hard work paid off as he was soon signed to Capitol Records, one of the leading record companies in the world. After penning several notable tunes for other performers, including Billy Currington’s No. 1 single on the country charts – “Good Directions,” Luke co-wrote his debut single, “All My Friends Say,” with producer Jeff Stevens, marking a major step in his musical career.
Bryan’s debut album, “I’ll Stay Me,” saw its release in August 2007, with Luke co-writing 10 out of the record’s 11 tunes. With over 500,000 copies sold, the effort was certified gold, giving just a hint of success that was yet to come.
After some extensive touring work, Bryan was ready to take things to the next level with his sophomore studio album. Released in October 2009 via Capitol Nashville, “Doin’ My Thing,” brought the singer his first Top 10 album on the US Billboard 200 chart, and ultimately his first platinum effort.
Hit singles “Do I,” “Rain Is a Good Thing,” and “Someone Else Calling You Baby” made their way to country and mainstream radio, turning Luke into one of the leading country stars in the country.
At the turn of the decade, Luke was still in full swing, relentlessly touring across North America and building his reputation of a top-notch live performer. He kept his album-tour rhythm going in the same beat, and 2011 saw the release of his third studio album, marking yet another step forward.
Titled “Tailgates & Tanlines,” the album saw Bryan crossing the two million sales figure for the first time, as well as earning his very first platinum album in Canada. The effort was lead by singles “Country Girl (Shake It for Me)” and “I Don’t Want This Night to End.”
Almost exactly two years after, in August 2013, Luke presented what turned out to be his best-selling album to date – “Crash My Party.” With nearly 2.5 million copies sold, the album earned double platinum certificates both in the States and in Canada. It brought the singer his first No. 1 album in the US with over half a million units shipped within the first week. The record ultimately spawned a total of six single tracks, including the title track, “That’s My Kind of Night,” “Drink a Beer,” and more.
With intensive touring schedules and constant public activity, Luke Bryan is still rocking strong and selling out venues across the continent. His concerts are loaded with energy and No. 1 hits, making them a must-see for every aficionado of the country genre, as well as music in general. 2015 will hopefully mark the release of a new album and give fans another chance to check out the man doing his thing live in concert.
