Biography

motley-crue-bioRising to fame as one of the greatest glam metal bands of all time, known for rocking anthems and 100 million albums sold around the globe, Motley Crue began their journey in a humble manner way back in 1981 as four lads sharing the same dream.

From the get-go, the band almost constantly featured bassist Nikki Sixx, guitarist Mick Mars, drummer Tommy Lee, and vocalist Vince Neil. The boys were known for exaggerating in just about everything, and Motley Crue stories of excess are likely to be told in many years to come.

But to focus on their musical journey, the band released their debut album “Too Fast for Love” in 1981, and made a major step towards superstardom in 1983 with “Shout at the Devil.” Within just two years, the band had more hits under their belts than many bands manage to amass within three decades, yet it was just the beginning.

“Shout at the Devil” was certified 4x platinum in the US, and so was its follow-up “Theatre of Pain,” and then 1987’s “Girls, Girls, Girls.” The hits and groupies kept a-rolling, but so did drug addictions, legal troubles and all that other jazz.

But the band was nowhere near the finish line, as their best-selling album was yet to drop. In September 1989, “Dr. Feelgood” was released, fetching the band their very first No. 1 spot on the US Billboard 200 chart, and over 6 million units shipped within the US alone thanks to hit singles such as “Kickstart My Heart,” “Without You,” and the title track.

The grunge revolution brought by the ’90s marked a period of turbulence for Motley Crue, but their place in the rock ‘n’ roll pantheon was more than secured. What turned out to be the seemingly final Crue album, “Saints of Los Angeles,” was released in 2008.

As we speak, Motley Crue are on their final tour across the world, touring maniacally as always to deliver the mean goods to their fans. They pointed out numerous times that this is indeed it, and that no return will ever be made. So buy your Motley Crue tickets now, you in for the event of the season!
