Funky, jumpy, shiny, groovy, you name it, the tune has it all. From disco balls to bouncy beats, the sharp-dressed four-piece is keeping things funky with this one, and will very likely have you humming the “Funky little monkey, she’s a twisted trickster / Everybody wants to be the sister’s mister / Coca-Cola roller-coaster / Love her even though I’m not supposed to” chorus in no time.
This type of beat, along with Jennifer Lopez-like female vocals might not be what you typically associate with Nickelback, but the band has pointed out on several occasions that their new effort is about being diverse and making music they simply feel like making, rather that forcing themselves to stick to the same mold and structure.
“No Fixed Address” saw its release in November 2014 as the band’s eighth studio effort. Previously unveiled singles include a protest stomper titled “Edge of a Revolution,” bluesy bank robbing anthem “Get ‘Em Up,” full-on pop ballad “What Are You Waiting For?” LSD-fueled rocker “Million Miles an Hour,” and bubblegum pop ditty “Miss You.”
