Chatting with Team Rock Radio, resurgence Jacoby said that the guitar driven genre will enjoy a major resurgence and become the “biggest thing on the planet” around 2020. He also brought up the likes of Bring Me the Horizon, Of Mice & Men, Falling in Reverse and several other notable young bands as the key figures in the new uprising of rock.
The musician revealed that he can “feel it coming back pretty strong,” pointing out that many bands that reached somewhat of a peak during early and mid 2000s, the likes of Korn, Deftones, Incubus and others, are now household names and classic acts.
Jacoby also stated that although cynicism is as present as always, rock keeps going strong. He urged the crowd to “give [rock] another five years” and then watch it shine once again in all its glory.
Papa Roach’s latest studio album, “F.E.A.R. (Face Everything and Rise),” saw its release on January 27 as the ninth effort in the band’s opus, landing at No. 15 spot on the Billboard 200 chart with 24,425 units sold in the US within the first week.
