Selfie Sticks Banned at US Festivals

selfie stick bannedIf you’re attending a US music festival this summer and hoping to bring along your trusty selfie stick, you’re in for a bad surprise.

As NME reports, the popular selfie sticks have been officially listed among “prohibited items” at the events. One of the leading US events, noted that “GoPro attachments like sticks, selfie sticks & monopods” are not allowed and can lead to crowd members being ejected from the event.

In a similar manner, Coachella stated that “Selfie sticks / Narcisists” are not allowed to attend the event. Several other notable festivals are yet to take a public stance regarding the notorious sticks, but experts predict that the majority won’t have much nice things to say about the popular accessory.

A spokesperson for the Wembley SSE Arena stated: “Selfies are a big part of the gig experience. The sticks might mean you are refused entry to the venue so our advice is don’t bring them and stick with the tried and tested use of an arm.”
