Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor recently shared an interesting story from the band’s early days, confessing that the boys have actually stolen the mixes of their self-titled debut album in order to have it properly produced.
Chatting with Noisey, Corey said his bandmates Shawn Crahan Clown, drummer Joey Jordison and producer Rick Ross broke into the studio “because we weren’t liking the mixes we were getting.”
Adding that late bassist Paul Gray might have been at the scene as well, the singer said that “people don’t understand just how f–king insane it was,” noting that Slipknot have managed to propel themselves into metal superstardom with their debut, so the decision to tweak with the mix was obviously a good one.
Slipknot are rocking the majority of 2015 on the road in support of their latest studio album “.5: The Gray Chapter.” The boys still got it and we highly recommend seeing them live. Click here for a list of upcoming Slipknot tour dates and additional ticket info.
