Slipknot Will Go on a Two-Year Hiatus After the Current Tour, Corey Taylor Reveals

SlipknotSlipknot singer Corey Taylor recently noted that the band will likely go on a two-year hiatus once their current tour is wrapped up.

As widely reported, the band is currently busy on the road promoting their latest studio album, last year’s “.5: The Gray Chapter.” But once that is over and done, it’s time off for the boys.

Although guitarist Jim Root noted that he would like to see the band getting down to writing of the new album as soon as possible, Corey seems to have a different vision.

Chatting with Rock Sverige, Corey said that once the touring cycle is done, Slipknot are “gonna take a couple of years off again to, kind of, let everything chill,” allowing everyone in the band to focus on their individual endeavors.

Specifically, Corey will focus on the new Stone Sour record, which is tentatively due out in 2016, percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan will get busy with his film production, and the rest of the gang will also have time for solo careers.

This means that seeing Slipknot live is a must for every metal fan out there. Make sure to click here  for a list of upcoming Slipknot tour dates and additional ticket info.
